Frequently Asked Questions

Is it free to visit?

Yes, the Arkansas House of Prayer is free to the public. However donations are appreciated.

When can I visit?

The House of Prayer is open to all visitors every Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon–4 p.m. Key fob holders have access to the building anytime. (Apply for a key fob.) Others can request access Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., by going to the St Margaret’s church office. For more information, please refer to our Visit us page.

What do I need to know when I visit the first time?

Visitors are free to walk the grounds at anytime during daylight hours. If you want to enter the main building, please stop by the St Margaret’s church office Monday–Thursday, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. The office door is the one located closest to the Arkansas House of Prayer. You will be asked for your ID and given a temporary key fob with which to enter the building.

When you enter the building, please remain silent and refrain from speaking. You will see the reading room on your left and the restroom on the right. Please sign in at the table by the reading room. Before you enter the meditation hall, please remove your shoes or put the coverings on them that are provided.

You enter the meditation hall through the wooden door opposite the benches. Blankets, chairs, and cushions are provided for visitors to use. Feel free to sit in one of the semi-private nooks. The other door in the meditation hall leads to an outdoor courtyard where we invite you to sit in one of the rocking chairs and enjoy the quiet outdoors.

When you depart, please return your key fob to the church office.

How do I get a key fob?

Please fill out an application here. A staff member will contact you when your application has been processed and your key fob is ready to be picked up.

Is it safe to be at the Arkansas House of Prayer alone?

While we cannot guarantee visitors’ safety, the staff and board believe the building and grounds are safe. All visitors and key fob holders who use the main building have been vetted by our staff.

How can I volunteer or get involved in other ways with the Arkansas House of Prayer?

We rely heavily on volunteers and are interested in working with others who are supportive of our mission. If this is something of interest, please fill out this form.

Can I reserve the Arkansas House of Prayer for an event?
